I’m ready to give up.
I can untangle a ball of yarn, but every time I try to publish a blog post with more than 1 picture, I get this error:
The service blogger has thrown an exception: Google.GoogleApiException: Google.Apis.Requests.RequestError
Not Found [404]

Message[Not Found] Location[ - ] Reason[notFound] Domain[global]
I can’t find a solution. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, searched various forums and support sites. I’m baffled. I keep threatening to stop blogging, but Don and many friends/family keep asking me to continue. But how can I do it if I have to resort to copy/paste/edit tedious (time-consuming) work? I’m retired – I don’t have patience for this!!!
You have more patience than anyone I know.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon....If you are using Open Live Writer, what do you see when you click on File > Options and then Edit in the right hand column - what is in the password box? Is it blank?
ReplyDeleteRick, I replied to your comment from my email, but it doesn't appear here, so I'm not sure if you got it. Yes, there's a password in the box. I encountered that tip on one of the forums I searched, and it resolved the previous problem I was having. Thanks for the suggestion.
DeleteBesides us young at heart retired people don't have time for this!!
ReplyDeleteDo you use Picasa to manage your photos on your computer? I do, so I upload the photos I want to use in my blog, then link to them when I write my blog in blogger. I don't use LiveWriter.
ReplyDeleteJohn and Carol, I also replied to your comment from my email, but I don't see it here. Yes, I use Picasa and have used the upload into Blogger feature, but I find that process cumbersome, and I miss the editing features in Live Writer (now Open Live Writer). Maybe I need to change my attitude...??
DeleteYou can't give up, can you ? I hope not..... Always enjoy your blogs.
ReplyDeleteSurely someone can help you find the "magic" fix ..... Hope, hope !
Sharon Here is a link to a friend's blog who seems to have worked out the issues with live writer. Hope it helps.

Thanks, Jim & Nanc. Your friend described a solution to a problem I had previously resolved, but not the one I'm currently having. Thanks, anyway - you never know what fix will work.
DeleteI've never used Live Writer, I just log into my blog and then post directly, uploading as many pictures as I want first, then I go back and write my text to go with the pictures. That won't work?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Judy. I just feel that writing directly using Blogger is cumbersome, and takes me much longer than Live Writer. I'll probably struggle along until the OLW problems are resolved.
DeleteI'm afraid I don't have any help to offer for OLW other than a 'me too.' OLW works just fine for my Wordpress sites, but I get a bunch of errors on Blogger. I kinda like using Blogger.com anyway - especially with my phone using Google Photos - I can take a picture with my phone, go to blogger, and it's available under Add Image->from Phone.
ReplyDeleteThose are good folks working on the Open Live Writer project, I'll bet it'll get fixed sometime soon - meanwhile, gotta live with Blogger.com
Thanks for the comment, Chris. I don't use my phone much for photos because I get so much better results with my Canon. I have faith that the OLW team will eventually come through.
